Arab women journalists in the first coordination conference in Sanaa

The conference will be held at Mercure Sana'a Hotel and will be attended by 26 of Human Rights and Media leaderships from 11 Arab countries including Yemen.

The conference will discuss a number of themes relevant to the difficulties and obstacles standing against citizenship, coexistence, respect and acceptance of others, in addition to the complex challenges that stand in front of women's choices and their identities. The participants are expected to come out with a plan and mechanisms for coordination among them in a consistent program and homogeneous activities.

Chairwoman of the Women's Forum for Studies and Training Dr. Souad Al Kudsi highlighted the importance of holding such a conference: “in this conference, we will not make diagnosis on the situation of women in the Arab world, but we're going straight forward to the analysis and exploration of the concrete and invisible reasons behind those conditions. We believe that this way we help leaders and human rights to guide their media and legal activities directly through public opinion.

We also aim to develop the role of women journalists in the possession of the information and formation of the public opinion. On the other hand, the coordination and work in unified and specified programs at the local, Arab and international levels, in addition to the exchange of information and experience constitute the efficient way to achieve the objective towards active citizenship and coexistence in a global society away from extremism and militancy and standardization of identities.”
